Long-time local radio broadcaster, on-air personality, and podcast host Mike Romigh will host the 2023 Pig Lady Fall Folklore Celebration.
Mike is a seasoned talk show host, having first worked for Beaver County Radio (WBVP) during the early 1980s. He since went on to host radio shows in Youngstown and Pittsburgh, most notably at the venerable KDKA radio studio. Back at WBVP, Mike currently hosts the popular “Live Mic with Mike Romigh” morning talk show. In addition to his on air work with Beaver County Radio, Mike selflessly lends his emcee and voice talents to many local charity events and community activities.

James has been composing songs and playing events since his late teens when he first picked up a guitar. Currently he is writing material for his next release, and playing shows throughout Western, PA. James and his wife Debbie, who often accompanies James on stage on the mandolin and fiddle, play at clubs, festivals, private parties & corporate events. Together they host a monthly open stage at Bottlebrush Gallery in Harmony, PA.

Folksy type Americana music. The band is lead by Tony Sorce, lead singer and rhythm guitar, accompanied by Mark Bergfelt, back-up vocals, fiddle and mandolin, and when available, Brennan “B-Man Smith”, banjo and vocals and Trish Imbrogno, double bass.

Kevin Farkas is a local, independent multimedia producer and public historian, specializing in community podcasting, storytelling, and oral history. His award-winning work has been referenced in several local, national, and international documentaries, museum exhibits, and publications–most recently appearing in Erased: WW2’s Heroes of Color, produced by Idris Elba and National Geographic. Donald Ritchie, Historian Emeritus of the United States Senate, has recognized Kevin’s creative audio short stories and radio syndication series as a significant example of a new genre of public-minded oral history.
Kevin is the executive producer of The Social Voice Project, and creator of several digital public history projects such as Historic Sound: Industrial Beaver County, Northern Beaver County Farming & Agriculture, The One-Room School House in Northern Beaver County, and Who Killed Local History? The Legion Ville Story (in progress), and Appalachian Beaver County (also in progress).
This special online companion exhibit explores the Appalachian heritage of Beaver County, Pennsylvania. We consider Beaver County’s unique history, culture, and linguistic connections to Appalachia, including stereotypes and realities shaping how we think about class, race, and cultural identity within the greater Appalachian Region.
