This is the Shell Ethane cracker plant, on the Ohio River in Beaver County Pennsylvania. It’s just west of Monaca and Beaver. Right now, it’s paying a lot of construction worker salaries, but 90% of the jobs will disappear when it’s finished. In a year, there’ll be no more construction jobs, and a relatively small operations and maintenance staff. And when they turn it on, the pollution starts.
