In the summer of 1944, a plane carrying Walter Mintus was shot down in the South Pacific. His remains were found 74 years later and on Thursday, Nov. 8, he was brought home via passenger plane to Pittsburgh International Airport where his nephew, Conway resident Rich Kozak, was waiting for him.
